Ylvis Band Introduces "Trucker's Hitch" After "What Does the Fox Say?"

From the guys who brought you “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?),” it’s “Trucker’s Hitch,” an ode to complicated knots.

Norwegian duo Ylvis moved on from foxes to knots this week with the release of their latest single and music video. The track has brothers Bård and Vegard Ylvisåker lamenting the difficulty of tying a particularly complicated knot called a trucker’s hitch.

The music video to “Trucker’s Hitch” is complete with sing-a-long lyrics, a choreographed dance, and copious knot-tying.

With a rope in his hands, Bard opens the clip, crooning, “I, I know how to tie / every kind of knot / except one / It’s so hard / the greatest knot of all / so flexible and strong / but I do something wrong.”

The comedic singer then touts all the knots he does know, including the bowline, sheepshank, and double overhand, before belting out his lack of understanding for the trucker’s hitch and attempting to learn it.

His brother Vegard joins him midway through the song, showing his love for sailing and his own need for the trucker’s hitch.

Ylvis burst onto the scene in September 2013, when their comedic single “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)” charted hundreds of millions of views on YouTube and inspired countless parodies and imitations. The song hit No. 1 in the performers’ native Norway, and reached No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 stateside.
